Last Tuesday, I ordered a fridge and an oven from Appliance Direct in Jerusalem. Very nice English-speakers, so I was able to really know what I was getting. The reason I ordered from them is that they said it would be here before the end of the week. Well, it's Tuesday again, and it's still not here. I called them yesterday, and she called the delivery company, and then called me back to say it would be here today. The oven hasn't arrived yet from the factory, but the fridge should be here this morning. Great! The kids have been having some meltdowns recently, so we decided to go to Jerusalem as a family today, so arriving in the morning would be great. Then the delivery company called. They could not get here in the morning - it has to be afternoon. I explain to her that we won't be here in the afternoon, since we already made plans. She asked if there's any way anyone could stay home. No. I said, "Please! I really need this and we made these plans already!" Okay, she says, it'll be here in the morning - be ready at 7:30. Having had the experience I had with the lift (they said they'd be her at 4pm and showed up at 2:30), I've been up since 7. Granted it's only 7:38, but I'mstill waiting . . .
