Just thought I'd share my experiences driving on the highway this week. We live along a major east-west highway called Route 3. It is the highway one would take from Jerusalem to Ashdod/Ashkelon/Gaza, and from those points back to army bases across the country. See where I'm headed?
Monday - Driving eastbound (from Jerusalem to Yad Binyamin): Three or four flat-bed trucks carrying about 10 or 12 white and orange vans, each with the word "Ambulance" written on the side in English and Arabic only - no Hebrew.
Tuesday - Driving westbound (from Kiryat Malachi to Yad Binyamin): Three flat-bed trucks carrying humongous green tanks with a small letter "tzadi" on the bottom. That stands for Tzahal, the Hebrew acronym for the IDF.
What kind of nation provides medical aid before pulling an army out of a war zone?
Ours.
